Barry and I love lively and vibrant downtowns and always choose a home based on the town having a good, solid one. To us, a good downtown has a mix of restaurants, interesting art galleries, mom and pop shops and sophisticated and even quirky boutiques.

The Inlet Cafe in The Highlands is a local secret and one of the best waterfront restaurants in NJ. We used to be one of those lucky locals when we lived nearby in Fair Haven.
